I love the size, the colors, the graphic quality (well, except for the teddy bear which doesn't do much for me). On a trip to Miami we stopped in at this art gallery. Love the art :)

New Website (in the making)

So, my new website is: www.joyfulgecko.com ! You can go there but there is nothing up...yet. I love creating so creating this website will be lots of fun. Lots of time involved, I see, and lots to learn, but FUN. My husband and I also bought these perfect little black boxes, lined in white cotton. We'll use these to package the little geckos and fused glass pieces in. I want to find the perfect rafia or other ribbon to tie a simple bow around the boxes, logo attached. I want the packaging to be memorable and snappy. My trusted friend and sister-outlaw has told my husband that everybody makes fused glass. OK, good information and, honestly, I have seen them at every craft fair I have gone to. But people have bought my fused glass pendants right off my neck for $25-$35 a piece. So, I think I may have an eye for designing them. Plus husband and I are working on a clever and unique necklace to hang the glass pieces on. We're thinking colorful materials such as colored

This paper doll, held up by my beautiful and talented granddaughter, is, of course, Grandpa Rusty. Notice how sportsy he is with his football shirt (54 is HIS number and his current age). Take note of his cross-training cowboy boots which he wears while bull riding. Doesn't he have a serious, all-about-the-game kind of look on his face? That's our number 54. And, what about that cool baseball hat with a gold star? You just know he's a winner on that team. That's our Grandpa Rusty, our very own, well-loved triathlete.

This beautiful royal blue iris was painted by Ann Caver, a very talented multi-media artist now living in Taos, New Mexico. I am really drawn in by the deep, dark blue of this bearded iris. I'd like to climb right up that "beard" and see what lays inside that beautiful flower...follow the light. I may be attending an art retreat soon in Taos and I hope to be able to spend some time with Ann. She is missed on the seacoast.
